Top 10 Tuesday

Top 10 Tuesday // Autumnal Vibes

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018!

Autumn is seriously the best season for every book lover. Reading a book by the window with leaves falling, sipping on a warm cuppa, and wearing a cozy sweater. Here is my list for my top 10 books to read that get me in the fall vibe.

sorcerers stone

Almost every Harry Potter book gets me in the fall vibe. I read these religiously when school started in the fall. And J.K. Rowling wrote wonderful fall/winter scenes.

I love a good mystery book, and there’s something about this classic series that gives me that vibe. This is probably one of the most underrated mystery series. The only series completed by Marilyn Ezzel, the Susan Sand series was published starting in 1982 and there were 8 books. Not in print anymore, but you can find many on Thriftbooks, Amazon, or Ebay, though be thorough in your search. The 8th book can be sold on Amazon or $800. They are very quick reads though! The first is only 181 pages. Check out the summary on Goodreads

Coraline is seriously a Halloween classic. Anyone unfamiliar with the book, and I’m not talking just the movie, see the synopsis here on Goodreads.

discovery of witches

I seriously love this cover!!!! This has been on my reading list for so long. I need to just ignore my TBR pile and crack this open. Synopsis here.

Twilight and New Moon give me major fall vibes too. When I was living in Oregon, I fell in love with the Northwest region for its beautiful fall and rainy weather. There is nothing better than living in one of their small coastal towns (Florence and Northbend have my heart) and enjoying a coffee at one of their coffee shops overlooking their rivers. If my family didn’t live on the East Coast, I would move there in a heartbeat.

night world

I loved this series! Though a large book, it’s actually 3 normal size books in 1, but all 3 intertwine. Check out the synopsis here. I definitely need to reread this series. There are 3 books in the series, to make for a total of 9 stories, if that makes sense?

pumpkins.jpg Five Little Pumpkins Alright, I know this is not YA…but I remember reading this book every year in the fall when I was a kid. My mom would read this to my siblings and me nightly. Now I have passed on the tradition and read it nightly to my son during the fall season. He loves is so guess I am winning in the book department of parenting… Anyone with little children, I highly recommend this if you have not yet read it. But honestly I feel like most have. It’s a classic.

Magyk Another wonderful Middle Grade series. There are 7, and they are rather large, but super easy reads filled with magic set in the Middle Ages. My mom and I still read these, they are just that good!

shadow falls Shadow Falls: Born at Midnight I loved this series! I actually got my mom to read all of them too. There are 5 to the series and even a spin off. The series is about a girl who has magical powers, but doesn’t quite know what she is because her powers are so rare and unique. She goes to a camp during the school year. The camp teaches students, split into groups by their powers, how to harness them and also stay alive in a world that is always hunting them. It is such a good series and I know my description does not do it justice because I have not read it since high school. Definitely another series that I need to reread.

There’s my top ten! Anyone else have a favorite read for the season? Any of these books on your TBR list? As always, leave a comment, give a like, follow, and check out my other platforms!
