I have missed a bunch of Top 10s lately (thank you school, work, and 2 little boys in the house). But here are ten titles that come out this Autumn. I have seriously so many books on my list this fall it’s a bit overwhelming with all, but so much to look forward to!
World of Throne of Glass.
You guys, if this cover reveal doesn’t come out this week, I will lose my mind! I think it’s well known to anyone that follows or talks to me, but I am obsessed with this series and SJM. Just know, it is pre-ordered! October 1st cannot come soon enough!
The cover is just so mystical and foreshadows an epic story!
“An enthralling debut perfect for fans of Children of Blood and Bone set in a North African-inspired fantasy world where two sisters must fight to the death to win the crown”
So that is the blurb from GR and my goodness doesn’t that sound sooo cool! Catch it in stores October 29.
There really are not many Arthurian retellings as there are princess and Disney stories. And one about Guinevere? I mean, I have always wanted a Morgan Le Fey retelling of her with like a Slytherin personality, like a morally grey character, but please hand me this book ASAP because I need me some magically gifted Guinevere!
Also, let us all take a moment to admire another wondrous book cover that will be gracing book store shelves this November 5th.
Frozen meets Mad Max in this epic teen fantasy duology bursting with star-crossed romance, immortal heroines, and elemental magic, perfect for fans of Furyborn.
I will not be ashamed of the fact that I have had a countdown on my phone since Frozen 2’s date was announced. I also will not be ashamed that I sing its song on the top of my lungs, or that I call my sister my Anna all the time because she seriously is the most pure of heart and innocent like Anna. Now add some Mad Max to the story? What’s not to love for The Never Tilting World?
I have loved this series since forever!!!!!! I am heartbroken it is ending. I was definitely not a fan of Meyer’s Cinder series, however this one has been dynamite for her! Here is my review for Renegades and Archenemies if anyone missed them. I can’t wait to see Nova and Adrian reveal their true identities to each other, and hopefully the end of the Renegades. Sorry, but I’m a Slytherin and the Renegades are too corrupt with power. I think the Anarchists are just a bit misunderstood.
In a land where magic is outlawed, eight criminals led by seventeen-year-old Larkin are sent on a mission to kill an ancient evil that plagues their kingdom. Descending into an underground realm full of unspeakable horrors, Larkin and her party must use their forbidden magic to survive what lies in wait, teeth sharp and jaws deadly.
Not going to lie, it was the cover that captivated me when I first saw it months ago. I really love tropes where magic is forbidden and there are people with magic. I am totally hoping for some morally grey characters as well.
I just started reading the ARC of this. I am only about 15% in, but it is so catching! The two sisters are very interesting. One is a Paladin, a feared power in their world, and they have been trapped inside their citadel since the younger sister’s birth by a hedge that surrounds the citadel. The hedge has a mind of its own when it comes to allowing people to enter and exit, the only person able to exit at times is the maid that has lived there since the beginning. My sister and I are very close as well, so I really look forward to the growth of these sisters and them facing the struggles of the younger’s Paladin magic that inhibits her and her ability to consciously live a normal life.
Perfect for Halloween! I love all things witches ❤ Kelley Armstrong has also been a favorite author of mine since her 2008, The Summoning was released. Hex Life will be a wonderful compilation of 18 witchy stories from fantasy authors. I have not read any of the work from the other 17 authors, but I definitely look forward to reading their stories in here and perhaps adding their other works onto my (ever-growing) TBR list.
Astrid is the surrogate for Princess Renya, which means she bears the physical punishment if Renya steps out of line. Astrid has no choice—she and her family are Outsiders, the lower class of people without magic and without citizenship.
But there is a way out of this life—competing in the deadly Race of Oblivion. To enter the race, an Outsider is administered the drug Oblivion, which wipes their memory clear of their past as they enter a new world with nothing to help them but a slip of paper bearing their name and the first clue. It’s not as simple as solving a puzzle, however—for a majority of the contestants, the race ends in death. But winning would mean not only freedom for Astrid, but citizenship and health care for her entire family. With a dying father to think of, Astrid is desperate to prevail.
The synopsis of this book reminds me so much of the Maze Runner with its contest, the competitors without their previous memories, and race to the death.
A girl searches for a killer on an island where deadly sirens lurk just beneath the waves in this gripping, atmospheric debut novel.
There truly are not enough books on mermaids, or YA mermaid books. I have high hopes for this! It reminds me of the new CW show, Syren (not sure if I spelled that correct?)
The book cover is also very captivating ❤
